Privacy policy

Effective October 24, 2026. How Diaz Tax Pros collects, uses and protects your information.

Diaz Tax Pros is operated by Daniel Diaz ("we," "us"). As a paid tax preparer, we are a financial institution under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. We are also bound by Internal Revenue Code §7216, which restricts how tax return information may be used or disclosed.

Information we collect

  • Through this website: only what you enter in the quote form: name, email, phone, preferred language, location, the service you need, your message and your contact preferences. The form never asks for Social Security numbers, dates of birth or documents.
  • When you become a client: the information needed to prepare your return, such as identification, income, deductions, dependents and bank details for refunds or payments. This is collected through our secure client portal, by phone, or in person, not through this website.
  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics to count visits and understand how people find and use this site, for example which pages are viewed, whether a visit came from a search engine, and when someone taps a phone number or sends the quote form. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address and basic device and browser information. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, we don't use this data for advertising, and we never sell it. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Technical data: our web host and our content delivery and security provider (Cloudflare) keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to operate and protect the site.

How we use it

  • To respond to your request and give you a quote
  • To prepare and file your tax returns and communicate with you about them
  • To meet legal, regulatory and recordkeeping requirements

How we share it

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services or as the law requires, for example:

  • With the IRS and state tax agencies when we file your return
  • With service providers that help us operate, such as our tax software, secure client portal, e-signature, email and hosting providers, who must protect it
  • When required by law, subpoena or court order

We will not use or disclose your tax return information for any other purpose, including referrals to other businesses, unless you first give us written consent as required by IRC §7216.

How we protect it

This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The quote form never asks for Social Security numbers, and tax documents are exchanged through a secure client portal rather than by email or through this website. Access to client information is limited to Daniel Diaz.

Retention

You can ask us to delete your quote request information at any time by emailing info@diaztaxpros.com. Client records are kept as long as required by law and professional standards (generally at least three years after filing), then securely destroyed.

Your choices and rights

  • You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information we aren't required to keep.
  • If you agreed to text messages, reply STOP at any time to opt out.
  • California residents have additional rights under California law; contact us to exercise them. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information online.

Security incidents

If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
